NEW NEWS October/November/December

Latest and Greatest 10/11/12/2009

I am back in Cyprus after spending the last 2 months at university. During that time I've been sending out our demos and trying to contact pepole.

The guys have been in Cyprus, mixing up to 14 hours a day!! you can follow their progress on Twitter (www.twitter.com/SSPband)!

Mario is working lots but has pretty much got his head round website designing (a whole lot better than me). so within the next couple weeks the site will be going under maintenence and be back fresher than ever, and looking REALLY pro. don't forget to sign up!

We have pretty much done mixing songs and have made a CD to send out to labels etc. It is mixed to slight content and we are constantly working on it. It is mastered-ish and needs a full going over. However it is fine to listen to now. :) So now it's practice practice practice over the next couple months before we gig this album to shreds.

We have made a few exclusive copies - a pre promo, with a unique cover to send off to some names we have come into contact with in the industry and some bands. We've had positive feedback and feel we are heading in a cool direction, constantly needs improving and changes but thats the best part of it. Will keep you up to date on whats happening through, newsletters, so sign up!

We should have a gig this Xmas hols so be sure to keep an eye out for that! We'll be whoring it no doubt, and will send a bulletin to members. Over the hols, we plan on doing a couple 'guerilla' acoustic shows, be sure to check that out, and hopefully make another preview for the DVD with music and talking, god this is exciting. New site will have some more music on it, keep you on tenterhooks.

WE had our first practice yesterday! We left at 7am, Mario in his pyjamas in the pouring rain. Was good fun! The first run through was pretty awful - not gonna lie! But by the end of the day it was sounding much better. We made a short walk to the sea where we spoke about universities and drug dealers and then made a trip to the bakery where mario bought enough mini sausage rolls to last him a life time. We listened to Jack Johnson and Converge in the car. The rain was so heavy on the way home I couldn't even see the road out the window and was shitting it. The guys loved it though, with Mario taking pictures on his Blackberry; Denis telling him to label the album Gossip Boy, with us on the Upper East Side of Larnaca.

Next practice should be tomorrow!

END of STUDIO DIARY; on my part.

OK. Basically, I've left the country now. And it was me writing these accounts and since I'm not there I can only give you 'the bread' i.e. what is happening. I cannot give you 'the butter' i.e. the funny little quotes that make this worth reading (if at all). HOWEVER the butter may be found on TWITTER. Visit it and follow us. We can be found as 'SSPband'. Also the Twitter is on the side of the blog (to your right) so yeah!

Before I left we had the site out and the new promo. Since then it has been back to mixing. Mainly on Denis' part. I think he prefers doing it alone at times? Theo and Mario are working jobs but whenever they have the time they go by to work with Denis. Me? Well I can't do much, but I've taken it upon myself these next 2 months to network and whore ourselves as much as possible. Basically get contacts for when the album is done! Not what you know; who you know.

We will be together around december again for a couple shows hopefully :D

I reckon you should se some new material in a month or so. But don't bet your life on it. The procedure needs care and time. The blog will be update every so often, every couple weeks? to give you the lowdown on what is happening!

Take care and thanks for following all summer!

SCARLETSNOWPRELUDE DVD Sneak Preview 2

Our DVD promo and our website were released two days ago, involving myself and denis staying up till 5 in the morning. After fixing everything we lost and making the DVD better we then transfered the files another (shittier) pc since denis' did not render. This took forever and involved Nazi Zombies and bakery trips, but we were adamant on finishing it that night; 'we don't fuck around'.

The next day I spent all morning polishing the site, and was left with only the backgrounds to do. Mario then came over in the afternoon with his girlfriend and we worked on fixing it up. We succeeded and then I spent the next couple hours polishing once more. The guys had gone to the pub and I finalized the site before heading there. We sat and drank to our hearts content when it started to pour down with rain. We all decided to go swimming!! at midnight!! I was soaked and freezing but the sea was warm. I got home and then found out I was meant to be taking Denis home and had left him.

With site and video a gogo we launched it the next day, whoring the shit out of it. Response and feedback was GREAT! With even more inspiration now we are set on completeing the tracks! We will put 3 songs up for free download along with another 3 gap songs (acoustic versions). The other 6 songs and 6 gap songs will not be released until we get some sort of backing to release an album.

That night we went out to celebrate with a drink and then continued onto limassol roundabout to practice gap songs amidst the natural reverb of the underground walkways! Fuelled by Red Bull we ended up leaving at 4 in the morning!

Studio Diary: 1st - 11th September; Daysss

This past week has been pretty hectic. It seems the seeds we once planted have now grown tall into ripe fruit bearing trees. The seeds being our efforts and the tree being the result. Ripe fruit; good results.

1st - 11th: PROMO
We took a break from mixing and have spent the last week working on the next DVD promo. It should've been out 2 - 3 days ago but it seems fate has another plan for us. After near completing the promo, the file crashed, and we were unable to open it up! Why didn't we back it up I hear you say?? Well I think we did (or didn't), we always back everything up (god forbid we should lose the tracks) but it seems we had no options; Adobe Premiere rearing its head back and letting out a blood curdling laugh. These past two days then have involved Denis reinstalling EVERYTHING (well not everything) and beginning again. How annoying. Well hopefully we will be finished with the damned thing tonight! And you will all be able to see the work we put in through a really cool montage, layered with our music! The likes of which will leave you gasping for more.

MIXING
The mixing of vocals is still an on-going process, but I think we are passing the halfway mark. We have been playing with different plug-ins to make them sound 'sweeter than your mum's sweet-pie' according to Denis. On observing Denis' handy work at one point I asked him what will that do, pointing at a button/plug-in/knob, to which he replied: 'this Michael, will sound like if you picked up a kitten, held it to your mouth and sang through it'. And he was right. I also learnt about double knobs. This week involved many illustrious quotes and humurous moments. One of which being when I thought Van Burren was called Van Helden for some reason, and kept calling him by that until I was corrected (and laughed at). One of our songs we established can only be described as 'Van Burren walking around in India with sunglasses on'; next music video I think? Also, the week revealed Theo reaching completely new levels of. And lastly wonderous tales about sharting (a word introduced to us by Mario) and I leave the rest to your imagination.

WEBSITE
The website is coming along just dandy. We have bought a domain and a host! So hopefully that will be up tonight along with the promo. Both are coming out together, and we are sorry for the delay. If not tonight, you can bet your sweet ass it'll be tomorrow.

Afterwards, we will get straight back to the music, so we can a couple tracks out there for you. For the time being we hope you enjoy the promo and hopefully the tracks on it will give you an idea of how the process is going/sounding.

Studio Diary: Monday, 31st August; Day 37

And so it comes, the last day of August. It is quite depressing since this process will be coming to an end soon. When I leave, I entrust the making of the cover and mastering to the guys since I won't be here. Then we send them off.

I was meant to arrive at Denis' at 10, but got here at 11; alcohol, bad times. I actually woke at 8 to take my nan to the supermarket to buy a kettle. Literally there for an hour, was death. Then I had to go pay the electricity bill, so slept for an hour before goin Denis'. I arrived and we polished Ashley up a bit, then I went to sleep for an hour again. On awaking we went to the bakery and bought sausage rolls, doughnuts, cereal. Came back and watched some American Dad before beginining work on Ochre.

We broke for lunchand came back around 6 - 7pm. Mario koined us and we sat with our laptops, pcs and so on like a bunch of geeks. Music is sounding better all the time. Mario said the screams sound like a 'dying fetus'. I found out that Mario said if we don't get anywhere different by January he will take us all out for the BIGGEST meal of our lives in the most expensive place; this is his way of saying we are going to do it... He got paid for his work yesterday but at this moment in time it's a cheque; 'I got a 703 euro cheque I can't do fuck with'. At times during mixing I get a little bored and rifle through Denis' possessions. Today I struck GOLD. I found a Metallica song book, with tabs for their biggest hits! Boo yah! I vow to learn it completely by the time the album is done. I now know the beginnings to Master of Puppets and One. Will keep you updated on my progress;
'Where's Lars Ulrich from?'
'Denmark?'
'That's CRAZY'
'Yeah, I know right, Denmark has people?!?!'
Denis wants to point out that our music is best listened to on earphones, to fully enjoy the abuse of left and right. He then pointed out that 'Theo sounds like an ocean and [he] sounds like an owl'. On asking how long till we're done I was told we are still doing the 'janitorial work' of the mixing process. Win.

We left at 12ish, and as soon as I got home collapsed onto my bed since we have 8am tomorrow.
xx

Studio Diary: Sunday, 30th August; Day 36

If you put all the days together, we've pretty much been working on these tracks for over a month now. Intense. Today we decided to take a little break from mixing and worked on some of the video footage for the next DVD promo.

The DVD will not be out for a while yet, since its going to take forever and much needs to be done, so hopefully these promos will tide you over for the time being. Also when the album is completed it will not be out for awhile since we are going label hunting, but like the promos we will put a couple songs up for you to get a taster!

Website is pretty much designed, but since my Dreamweaver has crashed, I am unable to finish it. Going to fix my laptop over the next few days and hopefully the site should be up in a months time? maybe sooner. Then you can listen to us and watch the promos on our actual site as opposed to myspace.

The promo looks good, and will have a rough mix of Ashley over it I think, only a small section though. Don't wanna ruin it for you. It is basically the recording of the album chapter, with us larking around and looking all serious.

Thursday 27 August 2009

Studio Diary: 25th - 27th, August; Day 33 - 35

Three days of doing things, yet I cannot recall any of it.
We have listed out all our songs and we work on each one for sometime, then draw a tiny star next to the name of the song before moving onto the next. We have about 4 stars now on each song. Some are near done some still need work. Its a tidious process, but sound is really good! Especially vocals. I'm hoping we'll be finished by Sunday 6th? We will see.

Tuesday 25 August 2009

Studio Dairy: Monday, 24th August; Day 32

Denis’; 5pm. We are working on Ashley. We cut out all the crap piling the good stuff at the end! We worked on singing vocals before heading to the screams. We can hear Theo’s dog tags every now and again clinking on the tracks…watch out for that! Theo does loads of deep vocals on the track sounding just like Tom Jones making the song sound damn sexy. Denis copied a track: ‘Jesus Denis, you’re like a magician’ - Mario. ‘People that don’t like screaming can go suck it’ – Denis; Mario thrilled he’s not the asshole of the band anymore. Mario thought one bit of the song sounded like a Christmas carol. We then started Song 2 (no name yet) Theo’s vocals sound lush. ‘Will I look weird if I go out in a jacket?’, ‘yeah! People will think your shooting up’. Denis is living on his own for a month and claims ‘it’s lucky he’s even wearing clothes right now’. I leave and they continue. I come home to find out they finished ALL the songs!! And played Nazi Zombies.

And people are already getting married omfg omfg

Studio Diary: Sunday, 23rd August; Day 31

I arrived in Zigi at around 11ish listening to Interpol the whole way. We had two songs left, however Theo was incapable of screaming on them because his voice was messed up. He then spent the next two hours worrying over whether he could ever sing again and googling throat problems. He then figured if his voice had not got any better after 5 days, he would go doctors. I looked through all the tracks and added whatever I felt I could. We then watched Ferris Bueller’s Day Off until Mario and Denis arrived around 3 – 4pm. We then headed, all packed in Theo’s vehicle to a fish restaurant in Zigi. We had a meze and discussed song names. We left the restaurant, with two new song names. Song 1 is now called Ashley. Rice is now called Ochre. We all then left for home, taking the scenic route along the coast, feeling full and pleased that vocals had been finished! Monday we would begin sorting them out.

Thursday 20 August 2009

Studio Diary: 14th - 20th August?; Days 26 - 30?

I’m making up for a lot of days now; if my calculations are correct, like 5. So this blog will be a recap of all those days, in short, in pictures. We began with clean vocals nailing all the songs. Then we moved onto screaming and shouting. When this is finished it’s back to Denis’ to work through all the recordings once more before heading to Fishbone Records.

Along this road:

We played copious amounts of Wipeout, Star Wars Lego, Call of Duty.

We slept a great deal, on uncomfortable furniture.

Had to relaunche Ableton over a 100 times, no joke.Rearranged the furniture

Ate crisps, croissants and cereal.

Drank water and whiskey.

Failed to light a shisha pipe.

Mario came.

The air conditioning unit would switch off every half hour.

Come Hither by Walter De LA Mare.

Theo’s parents would come home with sandwiches, chips, burgers and nuggets.

That’s it in a nutshell. There was lots of jokes and talking as well, nothing which sticks. Theo had to keep postponing his screaming, since he would get an agonising pain in his head each time. He was too afraid to go to the doctors and say ‘it happens when I scream’. Besides this, vocals sessions went down great without any disruption and sound really good. Saturday will be our last day, where Theo will finish off his screams and then we will go for a celebratory fish meze. We’ve decided to make this routine every time we do something in zigi, since we did this at xmas when we practicing for a gig. Until then;

Thursday 13 August 2009

Studio Diary: Wednesday, 12th August; Day 25

Need to catch up! Today we were to meet at denis’ to leave for zigi at 8. We were heading to zigi to record vocals. Zigi is a quaint little village by the sea and Theo has a house there in the hills in the middle of nowhere; which means we can be as loud as we like without the cops ‘busting our asses’. It’s also a well cool atmosphere, chilled out, sun, sea, scenic nature, silence and so on and so forth.
We left Denis at 10am since we still had to render tracks. On arriving we scouted the house for a location to record. We used the utility room as the vocal room, passing cables out the window to the room next door, which would be the control room. The setup was genius. We began going through tracks, I left a bit earlier and I think we got 4-5 tracks done just clean vocals first and only Denis and Theo since I have tonsillitis. We took a break at one point and acoustic-ed it up in the swimming pool room, since the reverb is wonderful, and Theo did percussion with the water.

A highly amusing point during recording: Denis was singing and about a minute in, Theo says ‘talk’. Denis says ‘I am’. Theo says ‘no sing’. Denis says ‘what do u think I’m doing’. I think that was it, maybe I don’t get it and was laughing at something else cos right now it doesn’t seem funny.

Studio Diary: Monday + Tuseday, 10th + 11th August; Day 23 +24

These days involved fixing up Batt so that it was ready for vocals come Wednesday. I was not present since I had flu over the weekend and now have tonsillitis; my body obviously seems to find it amusing to screw me over at this point in time. I know these sessions at Denis’ involved Mario doing bass and Theo doing a guitar.

Monday night Blynd and Quadraphonic played at DMC club in Larnaca, which we weren’t able to attend but word of mouth claims it to be a show of complete and utter perfection. Awesome bands to watch and play with!

Tuesday night we saw Life Plan Set, after we had blown the fuck out of some Nazi Zombies in Call of Duty. During the game we saw the words ‘you must ascend from darkness’ in blood (obviously) and on the wall (again, where else would it be) and Denis thought it would be a good name for a song. I see a pattern emerging here, anyone?

Life Plan Set (ex Ikon) put on an amazing show; covers of TV on the Radio, Grizzly Bear, SSLYBY. We left afterwards, the guys to go swimming and me to go home, since the smoke in the venue was destroying my throat and constantly felt like I was eating dick.

Studio Diary: Friday, 7th August; Day 22

I arrive at Denis’ and this time I brought Emilio along to visit. I recorded my last bits for Batt while they played Nazi Zombies. Then Denis and I traded. It was an enjoyable chilled out session, not much went down and I can’t recall any superb quotations or incidents worth mentioning!

Studio Diary: Thursday, 6th August; Day 21

Something brutal went down but again to far into the past for me to recall! It mainly involved me recording all my bits for Batt whilst Theo and Denis playing PS3; then me having to leave fast since I had to go home and get ready for Harry Fucking Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Oh. Yes.

Sunday 2 August 2009

Studio Diary: Sunday, 2nd August; Day 20

Drums for 'Batt' are looking good. We've spent most of the day on getting them right and working on the intro which is very Pokemon. We came up for another music video involving pokemon dressed in clothes, working day jobs like the rest of us (ahem) and coming home to their spouses or whatever, lighting up, watching TV, deep bags under their eyes and stubble, before hiting the hay to go work the next day.
We stopped for lunch and sleep, and met up just me and Denis to continue the drums for this song befor calling it a day around 6pm.

Studio Diary: Saturday, 1st August; Day 19

I literally cannot remember anything from today!
We began early, like 9 - 10am. It was just Theo, Denis and I.
I myself was so tired. They day involved eating, watching MTV Dance, watching a Converge DVD, and recording Theo's new song (working title: 'Batt' for no apparent reason. Though the two 't's are crucial). We got rough guitars done as a driver for creating drums. Drums sound lush. Guitar needs work; goes without saying.

Friday 31 July 2009

Studio Diary: Friday, 31th July; Day 18

Waking up with 12 hours sleep under the belt and feeling GREAT! I whacked on some Parkway Drive and read a little bit before going Denis'.

We began at 4.30. Mario and I first goin to the bakery to buy some mini sausage rolls! We then worked more on the drums of Rice. Not long after Theo began work on his piano for the song, whilst I updated SSP stuff on the net and Denis and Mario played GTA on the PS3. Mario's girlfriend then came along; 'what is this?? bring you girlfriend to work day??'. they then began playing Resistance and tried to kill each other, though it could not be done since they were on the same team. However they did notice Denis' player was black; 'I get that alot these days'. Mario and his girlfriend left to eat and Theo finished his piano which I thought sounded like pokemon, but then later thought it was more like Sigur Ros; 'same shit'.

We then finished all instruments for Ricae and called it a day.

Studio Diary: Thursday, 30th July: Day 17

Today was the first day we've actually had with all the band being here! We spent the day working on Rice and it sounds immense! With drums down the night before we worked on recording guitars and shtoof. Theo's girlfriend popped by for a little bit and felt like telling us how we weren't gonna get anywhere and that what we were doing was pointless. Then we split for lunch and came back around 4 - 5pm? We looked up record labels for our evergrowing list which is now like 20 labels, played GTA and worked on song till 9ish. We found a cool label called 'Metal Blade' or something haha which had this band called 'Rollin' With Tha Mutha' (of course it did); which featured Mike V (the pro skater). We're psyched if we get signed to them!

We then left to come back at 3ish tomorrow.

Wednesday 29 July 2009

Studio Diary: Wednesday, 29th July; Day 16

Today I made three journeys to Denis' house.

11.00: We were meant to begin at 9.30 but I had a late night involving vomiting and beer lairiness and therefore woke up late and in pain and slightly hungover to 4 missed calls from Mario. We began laying down the instruments for Rice. Just rough so we could start drums. We left at 1.30 since Denis had to go out and eat with folks.

6.00: I returned by my lonesome and me and Denis recorde the last parts of the song and began drums. The drums sound mad good! reminding me of words like 'hope' and 'wings'. We established that the music could only be described as 'Whitney Houston falling down stairs'. We then added this craaaazy drum roll thing which we then felt sounded like 'Whitney Houston with a machine gun - angry because she fell down stairs'

10.00: I return once more, to continue where we left. In the gap I had visited my grandfolks and helped my father with things. Denis played GTA for a bit while I watched videos of The Chariot (THE best band, ever). We then continued. We began work on the beginning drums. Mario's bass sounded amazing. He made this neat little riff which is really quite beautiful. Denis described it as a 'sad black woman'. And then described the scene, her, with her children, in the back of a cab. I thought it sounded more like a 'young, beautiful woman'. Denis then plugged in his keyboard and turned to me and said: 'orchestral shit comin' at ya'. We then made the most PHAT beat in the history of beats right now. It's so gangsta; but in a good way. Denis said it now sounds like 'a sad black woman dancing in a club'.

'We need xylophone/vibraphone on it; how though?'
'I dunno, how?'
'How do you think?'
'Record us playing it through the mic?'
'What do I look like, Dr Dre!'

Studio Diary: Tuesday, 28th July; My Birthday

I arrived at Denis' at 11. Theo shortly afterwards and we set up in Denis' room and learnt Theo's song. The working title of it is 'Batt'. Theo not as organised as me drew a rather sketchy 5 min diagram. Nonetheless, it worked charms and we were well on our way. We 'ssp-ified' it and finished around 4, when I had to get back home and party it up.

2/3 new songs done in two day! Impressive!

Studio Diary: Friday, 24th July; Day 14?

Arrived at 2ish in the afternoon. Theo was on his way and Mario couldn't make it because he only went and got swine flu! Jeez. I told Denis as I entered the flat and he said that his throat was kinda saw and he felt a little sick. I freaked out and Theo entered. I told Theo and he too freaked out. We said we would come back later once Denis went and got checked at the hospital.

Turns out Denis had it, and had to be quarintined for 3 days.

Thursday 23 July 2009

Studio Diary: Thursday, 23rd July; Day 13

Todayyyy, I woke early and went straight to Denis for 9am! Noone showed up.

Me and Denis then sat (re)mixing our songs till 12.30 adding what's called a 'kylie minogue' to our sound, then establishing that our music is like flashing lights BUT for the ears and not the eyes... ah ha; Ear seizures and stuff! Then Mario arrived.

We set up in Denis' living room and practiced the New Song I havebeen working on. It's working title is 'Rice' and we completed it. Everything minus Theo's parts which we will work on tomorrow. It is sounding pretty intense! In the beginning it was rather naked but we soon infected it with our 'ssp sound'. We drew connections to Misery Signals in it; so any fans of them, yay! Should record it over the next few days.

We finished at 4 - 5. Peace out.

Studio Diary: Wednesday, 22nd July; Day 12

We had an evening shift tonight!
Just myself, Denis and Theo since Mario was busy.

We mixed Cairo! The last of our 6 songs! W00t W00t! Theo left early, and Denis and I chilled to what we had done. Before he left he told us of this relative of his, who once owned or worked for a big studio/record label? However, they managed bands such as Kylie Minogue and Dead or Alive ('you spin me right round baby right round' (the song Flo Rida ripped off)). Nevertheless this was pretty awesome, and apparently when Theo told him what we were doing he said we were on the right track! That was comforting and gave me a boost!

We then organised a session for tomorrow at 9am to begin work on a new song! We were now back on the road being creative! A break from our current songs.

Friday 10 July 2009

Studio Diary: Monday, 20th July; Day 10000

Ok, we took a little timeout it seems.
This was due to complications with the army.
All is good now.

We regrouped at the meeting pub and made plans! I showed the guys the website; looking shweet as! Theo then left, never to return (that day) and Mario, Denis and I went to Denis' to mix Song 2. This was soon accomplished with us abusing the hell out of reverse effects. We then went down to the pub and to a gig to see fellow band mates Death Habit perform.

Saturday 4 July 2009

Studio Diary: The Weekend, 4th + 5th July; Day 9/10

Day 9: The day I come studio with a goatee

'You look like satan'
'I feel I look like a cop'

is the conversation that ensues when I get to Denis' at 5.30pm on Saturday.

We start mixing Mr A.M. after he shows me Song 4 and tells me I made the Re-Do list. Theo arrives an hour later and the exact same conversation begins. The song is sounding awesome with links to Cairo and Song 3 in sound par tapping. We are all giddy. Mario could not make it today and is coming tomorrow. We make a 'To-Do' list; we have sooo much to do. Theo begins to call me Reno 911 cos hes a dick. Instead of Victory Pubbing it, Theo and I drive to seafront and get Strongbow and Nuts. On this journey we broke the law by driving down a one way road with the possibility of traffic coming around the corner at any moment; was intense. At 11.30 we went to Limassol roundabout and gap song-ed it till 2ish where we scared the bejesus out of a small bird, were nearly mauled to death by a ferocious dog and found a drive-thru sandwich shop/supermarket where one literally pulled up to a window, told the guy what they wanted and he would wander the shop gathering your required condoments.

Day 10: The day I come studio with a moustache

'Now you look like a cop'
'I feel I look like a dick'

is the conversation that ensues.

Mario does bass for Cairo and then we both blitz through our 'Re-Do List'. There are numerous interviews throughout the day concerning Folk Week, Anal is Worth the Wait and Assfarm (the meaning of these will become apparent at somepoint. We also established that a beard grows better every(next)time you grow one. Therefore no matter how old you get in life you always have that to look forward to... eh, how about it! ANYWAY, the songs are sounding great and we split for lunch reconviening at 3.30pm where we do little work on Song 1 then go drink where we intend to discuss the music video. This takes about 2 minutes and we then start doing horrific impersonations of people. We leave early since Theo is 'under the thumb'. Tomorrow again at 10am. Goodnight x

Wednesday 1 July 2009

Studio Diary: Wednesday, 1st July; Day 8

This is starting to become tiresome ha! But, we are now on post TWENTY.
And it's the FIRST of July!

TODAY I woke up, listened to The Spinto Band, Patrick Watson, Why?, Plan B; respectively. Then wanted some Scroobius Pip and Dan le Sac but couldn't find them on my PC.

Went to Denis' at 2pm and we fixed up Song 3 (mixing but not quite mixing) until 11pm.
During these 8 hours:

- The electricity went off numerous times
- Denis and I blew the heads of Zombies on a game called 'Resistance'?
- Theo re-did his entire piano
- Awesome tapping going on, shit was off the hook
- We made a Re-Do chart (below) w/awesome life-like drawings of us.
- Found out Natalie Portman is not who she appears to be
- Filmed a bunch of stuff
- I got a haircut
- Some great quotes going on; my favourite from Denis being 'If you think that's in time then you need to go back to time school motherfucker'
- Went 'Victory Pint' and had a hotdog w/ alcohol

Studio Diary: Tuesday, 30th June; Day 7

I went to Denis' at 2pm to record Cairo; Theo was coming at 5. There was alot of improvising on both parts and we got some awesome sounding licks; reminiscient of Bullet for my Valentine denis said. I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing, still sounds awesome though. Theo arrived at 6.30pm and tried some piano out. At 9ish I was tired and left while Theo and Denis stayed to work on Song 2 and a half.

Sunday 28 June 2009

Studio Diary: Sunday, 28th June; Day 6

I woke late and played PlayStation until 4pm; 'as the enemy evolves, so must [i]' apparently...

I arrived at Denis' and began straight away, recording guitar for Song 2 up until around 6pm. Theo left to go to a restaurant with his family; I left to see Andreas and we popped down the seafront for an ice cream. I then went home to Heinz spaghetti and showered before heading back to Denis'. Denis in the meantime had recorded his guitar and now Mario was present to do his bass. All instruments down, it was 'Victory Pint' time. Mario was tired though so did not join us. We watched some Blogotheque before heading down.

I feel I need to take a timeout to link you to the GREATEST site ever made:

http://www.blogotheque.net/spip.php?page=cae_all〈=en

Delta Spirit FTW
Magistrates FTW

Theo then spent the next 2 hours 'talking' to his girlfriend on the phone somewhere while me and Denis sat ripping yarns. We made plans about next recording sessions before heading to Maccy Ds for munch. One euro burgers ftw! Theo's conversation turned out to be too important for him to be able to drop and drive me and Denis' back to the 'studio' so we walked back at 1 in the morning. I gave an extended interview on Folk Week for Two Weeks during the journey.

It is now 3 in the morning and I am watching an old school gangster film called 'The Long Good Friday' that my dad has made me watch. Bob Hoskins is gangster and the soundtrack is horrific.

Studio Diary: Saturday, 27th June; Day 5

I did not know we had it today until I got a phone call from Theo asking me where I was at 3.30 in the afternoon. I went to Denis'. We orgasnised Song 2, mulled ideas around and recorded Theo's keyboard. That was about it. We also made a plan about how we would go about organising shtuff.

This post seems pointless, oh well.
